Veterinary Care

Charing Cross Cat Clinic provides veterinary care exclusively for cats.  We offer the following services to our clients and their feline companions.

  1. Wellness Examinations
During these visits, you will have the opportunity to discuss any health care concerns you may have about your cat.  The veterinarian will perform a physical exam and discuss recommendations based on your concerns and the examination findings.

  2. Vaccinations:
During a wellness examination, the vaccination needs of your cat will be addressed.  Based on your cat’s lifestyle and risk factors, the veterinarian will assist you in designing a vaccination schedule specifically tailored to your cat’s needs.
  3. In-house diagnostic laboratory:
In order to provide prompt information about your cat’s well being, we are able to perform certain blood biochemistry and hematology tests in the clinic.
  4. Dental care & Dental Radiography:
When a dental procedure is recommended, your cat will have access to equipment which will provide diagnostic imaging of his/her teeth, as well as the appropriate equipment necessary to scale and polish your cat’s teeth.
  5. In-house radiology/X-ray:
In order to provide prompt information about your cat’s illness, or as a screening tool for senior cats, radiography is available in clinic.
  6. Surgery Services:
Charing Cross Cat Clinic is fully equipped to provide your cat with the necessary elective (spay, neuter, declaw) and non-elective surgery procedures.  Where specialty surgery is required, the procedure can be performed right in clinic by a traveling surgical veterinary specialist
  7. Specialty diagnostic procedures:
Where specialty diagnostic procedures such as ultrasound and endoscopy are required, the procedure can be performed right in clinic by a traveling internal medicine specialist.
  8. Housecalls:
Cats who require wellness examinations are eligible for a house call visit from the veterinarian.   It is recommended that cats with health complaints visit the clinic for their examination in case they require diagnostic testing or hospitalization.

Boarding

Charing Cross Cat Clinic offers several types of boarding cages for your cat.  Call us for further information or see our virtual tour.

Window Deluxe Boarding Room

If your cat is outgoing and curious, this is the boarding place for him.  This room offers several unit sizes, all with some form of platform for climbing and perching.  All but one of the boarding units in this room offer a view of the reception area, allowing your cat to keep in touch with the comings and goings of the clinic.  Some of these units will allow multiple cat households to board their cats together at a discounted fee.  Others are designed for only one cat.

All cats must be up to date on the appropriate vaccinations, with documentation provided from your veterinarian.  For further information, please email us.

Private Boarding Room

If your cat prefers less activity around him, the private boarding room is the place to be.  We have a designated boarding room in our downstairs facility.  This room has a window to outside, allowing lots of natural daylight to flood in.  The units are 3 feet wide by two feet deep by two feet high.  During our quiet periods, or at an owners request, a double unit can be booked.  These units are joined by a porthole, which allows the cat to move from one area to the other without restriction.  Some of our boarding units also have shelves for those cats that prefer to sleep or perch off the main floor of the unit.

All cats must be up to date on the appropriate vaccinations, with documentation provided from your veterinarian.  For further information, please email us.

Cats with chronic illnesses such as diabetes mellitus,  kidney failure and other conditions are welcome to board with us.  These cats must be scheduled for a preboarding ‘meet and greet’ with the veterinarian, thus allowing us to familiarize ourselves with your cat's condition.  We will also review your cat’s medical record to ensure that there are no outstanding care needs.  We reserve the right to decline the boarding of a chronically ill cat that has not had regular healthcare follow up with the referring veterinarian.

Grooming

The Charing Cross Cat Clinic also offers feline grooming services.  This service is available to patients of the clinic only.  Owners of cats who are not patients of the clinic are welcome to book their cats in for a wellness visit prior to scheduling their groom.  The clinic does not employ a professional groomer.  Lion clips, shave downs, brush outs and baths are available for our patients.  No poodle clips here!  Sedation requirements will be discussed if necessary.

All cats must be up to date on the appropriate vaccinations.
